I was trying desperately to find a source for a “blue book” value on donated goods, like the one that Turbo Tax provides in its tax software. I’d like to get a start on our yearly donations at optimal times (like, let’s say, a big move???) rather than simply taking loads of [...]
welcome to our new home! We got the keys…. 3 boxes moved in… and the carpets are being cleaned today! Looks like we’re all set for a moving extravaganza this weekend in 103 degree weather!
I bought my mom a few packages of her all-time favorite cookies, known as Cookkwees, from Maui. On every trip to the island, she buys these almost immediately and stocks the condo with them. The peanut butter Cookkwees are always the first to disappear.
Everytime I pass these in a shop, I have to pick up the brush, dip it in the water and paint “something.” And after I’m done, I wait for my magical picture to disappear forever into the page… and am quite calmed by its magical powers.

I wanted to “de-brand” our guest room soaps and such, but was struggling with buying waterproof labels or etching glass bottles with our monogram. Then I saw these at DebrandedHome.

I really cannot WAIT until I can whip out my precious KitchenAid mixer and use it for the first time!!!
First up on my list of recipes…. macarons!
While I can’t go ahead and inform the masses (aka. magazines, credit cards, etc.) of our move, I figure there’s not too much harm in day-dreaming about our moving announcements!
There is a slight design dilemma in the fact that, as they will be coming from the M’s collectively, they need to match Mr. [...]
One of my favorite online hobbies is surfing flickr for something fun. I’ve nabbed photos of boston terriers, balloons and the seaside all for my own decorating purposes time and time again.
Yet, unless you find some insanely generous person who has uploaded an amazing image in a huge size, it’s rare [...]
After “the move” and “the unpacking” … I vow to attempt to make some of these:
Paper Origami frames. Sickly gorgeous in their simplicity. So perfect for the fridge, bulletin board or inside a photo frame.
I’d better get myself some fresh new x-acto blades!
