You forgot to mention that the first 3 min. were spent trying to drown your Dad, while you looked on with a big smile…
i have always wanted to try this! did you do the gorge run or the chili run?
@Jenny – We did the Chili bar run
It really is a “must do” — I hadn’t been on the American River in years and it was such a great way to spend the afternoon!
Soooo….this W.E.T. company rafts next to you the whole time and takes photos!? How awesome!
I’ve spent most of my life on the South Fork of the American – but we have our own raft. It’s self-bailing old school. Meaning it’s a bucket boat. Meaning you use a bucket to bail out all the water after each rapid. Ahhh…the good old days. Makes for a mean arm workout between pulling!
Anyway, looks like it was a ton of fun! Yay!
@Kate – Honestly, this “new school” rafting with the self-bailing boats is crazy. I mean, these things stay above the water so easily it’s crazy! I hadn’t been rafting since they’ve been around, so I know ALL about the buckets! And the bucket dumps from friendly floating rafts!
