There is a store near Mr. M’s workplace that is full of Russian goodies, and the windows are lined top to bottom with all sorts of nesting dolls. We’ve always joked that putting some of them in our windows at home may help us make more friends on our block, since we have lots of Russian-speaking neighbors. And after seeing these gilded versions, I’m thinking that idea wouldn’t be quite so bad!
