On Saturday, I had a Nikolaihof Wachau Hollunderbluten-Biodynamic Elderflower Syrup spritzer at The Slanted Door.

And while it sounds like too much to handle in a mouthful of soda, it’s amazingly delightful as a drink… but the price tag is hideously wanting at $37 a bottle.

So, instead, I’ve opted to keep the fridge packed with this alternative instead:

How many times must I truly express my gratitude to IKEA in a week??? A glass of mineral water and this concentrate (for $4) suddenly makes the world a better place!

Now I’m off to research all of the fun British spritzer recipes I can find that call for elderflower syrup…. and I’ll let you know what I find!

You are psychic. I recently had an elderflower soda at the great Pizza Antica in Roseville, and have been thinking about it ever since. Time for a trip to Ikea! (Who cares that the last trip was a week ago?)
