I’ve always been pretty smitted with anything flavored like grapefruit… mainly because the sweet flavor of the citrus remains while the tartiness seems to go away when you add sugar. The first time I had grapefruit ice cream was in Italy, when I just HAD to have the flavor known as “pamplemousse.”

This version of the ice cream (recipe found here on Desert Candy) can be quite sweet if you use ruby red grapefruits, but oh so refreshing on a hot summer day! You’ll just need milk & cream (or 1/2&1/2), grapefruit juice, grapefruit zest and sugar.

Let’s just say that between us, I’ve eaten this for breakfast for the past two days… isn’t it the same as eating a grapefruit and drinking a glass of milk??
