Listening to The Splendid Table on the drive home yesterday, I heard a tea expert rave about making the perfect iced tea. I expected to hear about some magical tea leaves, or perhaps how best to brew it in a maker or in the sun. Instead, I heard something really surprising: the best iced tea comes from cold brewing it.

Use 2-3 tsps of tea to each 1/2 gallon of water… put the container in the fridge overnight… strain in the morning and enjoy!

And you know what? They were right! It is absolutely smooth and fabulous… and a perfect drink for the summer!

WHO KNEW??? We found a $10 iced tea brewer at the Grocery Outlet so we’ve been brewing that way lately… I’m sipping as we speak! I want to do a hot/cold brew side by side taste test and see what comes out as tastier now!
