My adventurous screenprinting class is now over… but that doesn’t mean my exposure to emulsion and water-based ink is complete! Nope… it’s all just starting my friends, and I’d like to give you a preview of my first little project:

ingredients
: muslin, black ink
project:  Holiday pillows
[photo above is simply of the muslin loosely draped on a pillow form... so you can get an idea of what it is supposed to be]

I printed out 6 copies of my design last night… and I was very pleased with the result! Especially since it’s the first thing I’ve printed using a big ‘ol screen instead of my little tiny gocco one! The quote is from “A Christmas Carol” and I thought it would look lovely as an accent pillow sitting on someone’s couch. I printed it on muslin just to give it a bit of a more homey feeling… and hopefully the corduroy backings will add to that as well.

Now, all I need to do is combine my skills from my other craft class this quarter (sewing)… and I’ll be on a genuine pillow-making mission! (In other words, these things may be coming to an etsy store very soon…)
