See those three little objects sitting on our outdoor coffee table? Those are our little nighttime globes of light. They’re not terribly fancy, but boy do they do the job of providing a bit of light on a warm summer night. Sometimes you want to hang out until twilight, and don’t want to have a giant porch light glaring and enticing lots of bugs to come to your party, and that’s where these guys come in! And the best part? They’re completely solar powered!
.

.
All you need to create your own little outdoor table night light: LJUVIG bowls from IKEA for $0.99 each (or another colored glass bowl that will fit) and some cheap solar stake lights (I bought mine 8 for $22 at BigLots). Simply assemble the light housing… and then plop it on top of a bowl… and you’re done!
.
Now why make your own little lamp? Well… if you go shopping for your own, you may find little solar cell powered lights a bit expensive for your taste as they start around $10-15 each. Even the IKEA option, the SOLIG, is $8. Instead, for $3.75 each, you can have as many as 8 of these little lights. And what’s great is that the colored glass makes them look pretty during both day and night.

Sure it may be way past stocking-season… but I felt like I had to find someplace to hang the newest socks in the house. What are they?? Why they’re baby legs/leggings of course! In stores they sell them for $12+ … and are the perfect little addition to onesies that keep babies warm where you don’t need clumsy pants for diaper changes. At home, you can make them from normal crew/knee-high socks and some thread for around $1-$2/pair! I made these three pairs from non-sale socks at Target for $6 and about 25 minutes of my time from start to finish.
.

[source: chickpea.]
.

So how exactly do you make baby legs? Well… there are lots of tutorials out on the web, but I figured I’d add to the madness and post a video that really shows what is going on rather than just a series of photos. Watch below and you’ll see just how easy it is!
