pottery barn super secret sale info

I did something odd today. I used my PHONE instead of a keyboard to place an order. Crazy, huh? But in doing so, I learned a nifty little known fact!

I ordered the above table for our entry room, and needed to call Pottery Barn’s 800# in order to use a 10% off moving coupon along with a giftcard for the purchase. I learned that every Thursday, the catalog call-center receives a list of “specials” that they offer to customers who call in. I probed a bit further, and essentially learned that before you buy anything online in the SALE area, you should call to see if any of the items are on special.

For example, these 5×7 frames are listed at $29 online. I asked about them on the phone, and they were marked down to $22.99.

This doggie treat jar was listed at $20 online, and down to $15.29 on the phone.

So… I’ll add this to the list of mark-down days I already know about (i.e. Gap/BR sale day is Wednesday). Hooray for getting the jump on deals!
