creative wedding gifting

Sometimes wedding gifting gets the best of us. Creativity and ingenuity may seem lost once you’ve scoured the registry for something that says more than “congrats! enjoy this cheese grater!” so I’m always seeking new and unique ideas for thoughtful gifts.

Here’s my take on two top notch suggestions from Real Simple:

Top-of-the-Cake Kit: In a box, place dessert plates, silverware, and flutes for two (Champagne optional). Finish it off with a note saying, do not open until your first anniversary.

2 Heart-Pattern plates from “Plates with Purpose”  : $84.50 (with shipping)

Set of Dessert Forks from IKEA: $7.99

2 Edge Champagne Flutes from Crate & Barrel: $24

Honeymoon Wine: Track down a few bottles of wine (or another local specialty) from their honeymoon spot. Wrap them in travel brochures or pictures of the destination. They can relive their trip down the Seine or dinners on the beach by sipping on the sofa.

If the couple happens to be visiting an area of the country/world where they grow wine, then your best bet for finding it is on BevMo.com. You can narrow your search of wines to specific countries… then further to regions… so if they’re relaxing in Tuscany, you can find a great selection of Tuscan wines right here.

However, if they’re headed to a non-wine climate, perhaps some regional spirits from the area would help as well.

For myself and Mr. M, a bottle of any flavor of Brinley Gold rum would make us extremely happy.
