yummy

didn’t know about it last week… can’t live w/o it this week

Do you ever find yourself stumbling upon something new and exciting, and then suddenly it’s everywhere you turn? That seems to be the story with Fischer & Wieser’s gourmet sauces this week… they just keep popping up around every new corner!

When I went to the Britney Spears concert last month, Cathy brought a bottle of the Famous Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce to the pre-party for me to keep… and poured 1/4 of a bottle of a brick of cream cheese. The second I tasted the stuff, I knew it was going to be a pure addiction. There’s no way you can mix super sweet fruits with something spicy and not instantly crave the goodies that lay before you. So when I brought my bottle home, I rushed to buy a hunk of brie and try that combination as well… and once again… AMAZING. I had it out for friends who visited this weekend, and they all raved for the same reasons… so I’m convinced it’s definitely the good stuff.

Fast forward to the Tuesday ad I got for the local Nugget… and the sauce is prominently on sale for $5 a bottle (normally $8.50). So, I put it on the list and picked up an extra bottle of the “Pomegranate Mango Chipotle Sauce” on my visit yesteday… but that’s  not the end of it…

My weekly email from Costco shows up in my box… and I exclaim (loud enough for Mr. M to hear), “NO WAY! Costco has those dang sauces now too!!!!” Seriously… I think someone is trying to tell me that I was missing out on something that the rest of the world knew about for a long long time.

Anyhow, look for it in your store and I promise you’ll be happy noshing on it, be it over cream cheese or brie. Or you can actually cook with the sauces as well, as I’m trying the new Pomegranate Mango sauce as a marinade for the pork kebabs tonight. And if you want to order some, I’d suggest you check out Costco’s awesome deals on the stuff, as they INCLUDE S&H.

I just had to let you know that after reading your entry on these sauces, I dashed on over to Nugget and got BOTH of the sauces available. I absolutely looooooved the Raspberry. It was sooooo delicious, yet sweet. I’m not even a fan of Raspberry and was scared that I wasn’t going to like it for that reason. But, you really couldn’t taste the Raspberry much–phew for me! Thanks for the tip and I’ll definitely be looking for it at Costco now!!!
