and then there were none…

.
The World Cup ended for lots of people when the US lost to Ghana. For me… my enthusiasm prevailed to see which, if any, of the “H&M underwear crew of 2006” would make it to the end. As of this morning, we’re all out of the running (Brazil, England, Italy).
.
I thought Brazil (aka. Audrey) surely had the advantage due to her purchase of a vuvuzela (as pictured below), but alas, it was for not. (Good show Netherlands!)
.

.
And after this next week, no one will be reporting late to work in the morning with random excuses nor playing with their vuvuzela apps on their iphones. The world cup mania will pass and Americans will forget about the existence of soccer for another 4 years and sporting events will go back to ending with wins/losses instead of ties.
.
Thanks for the memories South Africa… I’ve only got a month to wait until football season really starts.

I wonder if all the soccer hype really will disappear. I know a lot of it will, but part of me wonders because of social media and live streaming, if a lot more people got into soccer this time around, and will stick with it.

Anyway, I’m dutch so I’m still cheering on my ‘homeland’ for a little while longer (ok, I’m 4th/5th generation dutch, but we have a lot of national pride–Hup Holland!!)
