lucky number 7

.

Dearest little L.
You’re a whole 7 months old today.

.
You love to clap and have become quite the master since you started two months ago. You clap when we say “Yay!” You clap when Mom and Dad give you big giant smiles. You clap when Memphis acts all silly with her toys.
.
You love to eat your mushy foods. The first day of any new food is rough (especially those mangoes!), but by Day #4 you’re craving whatever the mush of the day is. In September you ate carrots, zucchini, sweet potatoes, mangoes, and bananas.
.
You are also suddenly aware of the moment we leave your sight… and you’re not a fan of it at all. But all it takes is a quick sweep up into our arms, and the world is well again.
.
You talk to the world and sing along to the radio with a combination of babbles and squeaks, and are often offended if we don’t join in on the conversation. Dad likes to call you a pterodactyl.
.
You said, “Da-da” right on cue when I pointed to Daddy last week. And you said, “Bye” as well with your grandparents M as witnesses. Your “bye-bye” waves are getting more and more consistent, and you give us the funniest look when we ask you to do it multiple times. You seem to know that once is enough for goodbye.
.
You squint and scrunch your face up when Memphis comes for kisses. And you give us sloppy wet kisses when we request them.
.
May the number 7 be as lucky to you as it is to your Mommy & Daddy.
