Talenti gelato

(flavor featured here: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup)

I’ve been known to stay away from the ice cream/frozen treats section of the grocery store in recent years due to utter disappointment. I’ve somehow moved beyond the days of craving a crazy Ben & Jerry’s concoction to devour at 11pm (or 3am?) and the lack of real milk fat in most bulk branded ice creams leaves me wanting as well. But it doesn’t stop me from “browsing” the section for something new and exciting… which is how I stumbled upon Talenti gelato. Well, first I totally spotted the sale tag. Then the simple but wonderful packaging. And then I read the flavors: Blood Orange, Mediterranean Mint, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Sicilian Pistachio…

I grabbed the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and felt satisfied that in my $3 purchase I would find some sort of happiness. Little did I know I would create an obsession. One that has distracted me from my homemade ice cream maker because these guys have truly mastered the art of happy gelato creation.

This stuff is amazing. I say this as a true lover of all sorts of frozen goodness. AMAZING. As in I’m pretty certain I won’t be stocking up on anything else in my frozen storage spaces (unless it’s regular ‘ol vanilla bean ice cream for milkshakes).

For the record, I’ve now tried Simply Strawberry, Mediterranean Mint, Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

Miss L has recently been asking Daddy to bring home “pink chocolate ice cream” (Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip) – people may look at her strangely in the store, but at least we know we can satisfy her cravings quickly.

I’m patiently waiting for Banana Chocolate Swirl to show up at my market… but have yet to see it.

Did I tell you that this was awesome???

This is my absolute favorite too! And you’re missing my 2 favorite flavors: Double Dark Chocolate and Tahitian Vanilla. (And they’re $4 down here ; (.) I’ve also had the Sea Salt Caramel, but it wasn’t as good as the other two.

We have been purchasing the Banana Chocolate Swirl during our past couple of food shopping trips. It’s amazing!! It’s $3.99 here, so we try and make the container last.

We don’t get ice cream often at all – more because J thinks each container is the recommended serving size. But we’ve bought this on more than one occasion.

I love Talenti!!! Although I haven’t seen more than half the flavors at the stores here… I’ll have to do some more digging…
